Thuringian Forest
The Thuringian Forest is a low mountain range which is 150km long anf 35 km wide in the Free State of Thuringia. On the ridge of the Thurigian Forest runs the high-level trail Rennsteig. It is very suitable for extensive walking tours. There are numerous places of interest to discover along the Rennsteig. Close to Eisenach, the native city of Johann Sebastian Bach, there is the historic Wartbug. Internationally significant winter sports facilities as well as the Rennsteig garden are located in Oberhof. Due to its scenic premises and the climatic conditions, the Thuringian Foerst is a very popular travel destination.
